Insurance requirements

All non-German citizens up to 69 years who are temporarily staying in the area of application can purchase PROVISIT insurance coverage. The insurance policy can be purchased within the first year after entering the country.

How to receive your insurance?

1. Quickly and directly over Internet
You can easily conclude PROVISIT online. You will immediately receive your cover note.

2. Easy by mail or fax
Alternatively the application form can be downloaded, printed out, filled in and send back to our office. You will immediately receive your confirmation of insurance coverage.

Important documents – an overview

After conclusion of the contract, you will receive the following documents:

• an insurance certificate for your records and for submission to the authorities
• an “Ärzte-Info-Ticket” (medical info card) for direct billing with physicians

Start of insurance coverage

Insurance coverage starts on the date applied for, at the earliest on the day we receive your application at our office (0:00 am).

End of insurance coverage

Insurance coverage expires automatically on the agreed date.

All premiums are monthly fees. You will find the detailed benefits and the non- refundable treatments here.

Waiting period

There are no waiting periods if you purchase the insurance policy within one month after entering Germany. In case of a later purchase, the waiting period for the health insurance policy is one month. The waiting period can be waived if the insurance policy immediately follows a previous insurance. In this case, please hand in a copy of such previous insurance together with your application. The waiting period does not apply in case of an accident or medical help aiming to prevent acute danger to the insured person’s life.

Payment

The fees will be paid by direct debiting. You can choose between a monthly fee and a single fee and we will debit the amount due to your account. We will debit the first amount due or the first monthly fee to your account approximately 14 days after you have received the insurance confirmation. In case of online purchase, payment by credit card is also possible.
