Special cases in everyday life
Sometimes things don't go according to plan. In order for you to know what to do in such situations, we described some special cases below that might not be the rule but nevertheless occur rather frequently. Please don’t hesitate to call us if you have any further questions!
Insurance for children
Children and adolescent persons can be enrolled under the PROVISIT insurance plan. For Children under 6 years, insurance can only be effected if the accompanying legal guardian is also insured under the PROVISIT tariff.
Delayed entry
The start of the insurance period can be postponed if your entry date is delayed. Please provide us in such a case with the respective entry documents immediately after entering Germany. We will then provide you with a new insurance certificate based on the new entry data.
Early return
After expiration of the period applied for, the insurance coverage ceases automatically. Please inform us in writing if you return home prematurely. In this case, you only pay the monthly fees accrued up to the date we receive your message. The direct debit is stopped and we will immediately reimburse any excess payments without charging a service fee. Please don’t set off a return debit note since it will only cause further expenses.
Please inform us immediately about any termination since a retrospective cancellation of insurance is not possible. Just send us a fax.
Delayed return
If you stay longer in Germany, you can extend your insurance provided your written request for extension reaches us prior to the date of expiry of the existing insurance coverage. In case of extension of insurance, insurance does not cover events that took place prior to the request for extension.
Holidays abroad
Insurance coverage also includes worldwide trips and stays abroad up to a maximum duration of six weeks. In case of a stay of more than six weeks, insurance covers only the first 6 weeks. Flight tickets, railway tickets or stamps in the passport can be used to verify the duration of the holiday.
If your family joins you
Joining family members from abroad can also apply for PROVISIT insurance coverage. For this purpose, every family member needs to purchase a separate insurance policy within one month after his / her entry.
Change of address

Direct debit return
Every returned direct debit causes administrative procedures and bank fees. Therefore we have to charge a service fee of € 15 for every returned direct debit.
