Temporary surcharge for Provisit Student and Provisit Science

Our two comprehensive health insurances Provisit Student and Provisit Science are private health insurances with which students and academics from abroad can optimally cover themselves during their stay in Germany. Unfortunately, Germany is currently affected by the Corona pandemic as much as any other country.
Even in Corona times, it shows that Germany has one of the best healthcare systems in the world. But it doesn't pay for itself. To cope with the immense additional costs caused by the pandemic, legislation is demanding that private health insurers introduce a temporary surcharge for the compulsory long term care insurance ("Pflege-Pflichtversicherung"). This means: For our Provisit Student and Provisit Science customers, the premium will increase slightly by €3.40 per month for 1 year, from January 1st to December 31st, 2022.
Who has to pay the surcharge?
The surcharge is applied to the compulsory long term care insurance. Therefore, this increase only affects ...
... Provisit Student customers
... Provisit Science customers
Customers of Provist Travel, Provisit Educare24 and Provisit Visum are not affected.
Do co-insured persons also have to pay the surcharge?
No. The Corona surcharge does not have to be paid for non-contributory co-insured children and live partners.
Is there anything I need to do?
No, a declaration of consent or similar on your part is not necessary. If your contract is affected by the €3.40 increase in the monthly premium, we will notify you. In our letter you will also find detailed information on the subject. The premium increase will end automatically on December 31, 2022.
