Grant Health Insurance is a substitutive private health insurance for foreign academics, doctoral students and visiting scientists in Germany, which meets all requirements of immigration authorities, institutes and universities.

The insurance benefits meet the requirements of the GKV-Spitzenverband. The insurance is eligible for employer subsidies and can be taken out for an unlimited period. From a duration of stay of more than 12 months, nursing care insurance is also included.

Grant health insurance can be taken out by sponsored scholarship holders before entry and 6 weeks after entry without a health check. It can optionally be supplemented by daily sickness benefits insurance and the Protect package with personal liability insurance, baggage insurance, accident insurance and assistance insurance.

Grant Health Insurance by DR-WALTER

Grant Health Insurance is a cooperation between DR-WALTER and the German Association of International Students DEGIS. Through a group contract, foreign scholarship holders who receive a grant in Germany can be comprehensively insured without a health check.

The German Society of International Students DEGIS is a recognized non-profit organization that forms the largest community for international students in Germany.  For over 60 years, DR-WALTER has been insuring all types of travel. Our specialty is providing coverage for foreign visitors.
