Please be aware that some insurance companies refuse to pay claims even if the au pair has insurance, if the au pair does not have valid au pair status in Germany at the time of the damage. This cannot happen with us: the insurance coverage of our products is not linked to au pair status.

During staying in Germany, the au pair is covered for acute medical treatment of newly occurring illnesses. We also cover unforeseeable treatments that are attributable to illnesses that existed before the start of the insurance (pre-existing conditions), provided that the insured event had not yet occurred when the contract was concluded. Special provisions apply only to tuberculosis, tumors, HIV infections, and chronic kidney disease.

The XL tariff includes preventive care services within the scope of statutory programs, such as health and child checkups, as well as additional vaccinations and dental prophylaxis. A maximum reimbursement limit of €500 per insurance year applies to all of the above services combined.

You will receive the doctor's information ticket together with your insurance confirmation. If the au pair presents this ticket when visiting the doctor or hospital, the doctor or hospital can bill us directly.

We calculate the fees based on the number of months started. If the au pair leaves the host family earlier than expected, a phone call or email is sufficient to settle the account on the exact day of cancellation. There are no administrative fees for refunds.

Nowadays, many au pairs travel to Germany by bus to save money. The journey often takes a long time and passes through a number of countries.
